Hello Jefferson Twp 2012 is here and its time to announce the newly elected officers and they are as follows-

JTFD1 would like to give thanks to our 2011 officers for a great job and keeping the residents of Jefferson Twp safe.

Winter is here and its nice to light up those appliances such as a wood stove or a certain kind of a heater, but with that you need to make sure your safe too.With the cold season here please make sure your appliances have been checked.

Here are some tips from the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) to avoid Chimney fires or some dangerous situations-

1. Have your install done by a professional, if Possible.
2. Make sure your heating equipment is allowed in your community.
3. Keep anything that can burn at least 3 feet away from your fireplace or wood stove.
4. Have your chimney, fireplace, or wood stove inspected and cleaned every fall just before heating season.
5. Burn only dry, well-seasoned wood that has been split, stacked and allowed to dry for 12 months.
6. Have a sturdy screen on your fireplace, and allow ashes to cool before disposing of them in a METAL container.
7. Install fire and carbon monoxide alarms in your home and ensure they are in working order.

This years Annual North Jersey Parade was hosted by Lincoln Park Fire
Department. Congratulations to Lincoln Park Fire Department on
celebrating 80 years of service!

Before and during the 2 mile parade JTFD1 as well as over 20 other departments were judged on there trucks, members marching and overall appearance. JTFD1 brought home 5 trophies including North Jersey’s Best Over All without Music!

1. Best Over All without Music- North Jersey
2. Dept Reg. Uniform without Music – North Jersey
3. Best Appearing Pumper
4. Best Appearing Fire Co. w/o music regulation uniform less then 20men
5. Best Appearing Ladies Aux 2nd Place
