From West Milford Fire Marshal –

At 11:15am today the West Milford Fire Department was dispatched to 21 Dan Jennings Rd for a reported structure fire in a vacant home. First arriving units found the structure was fully involved. A water supply & relay was established and the fire was brought under control in about 45 minutes. Extensive overhaul was performed and heavy equipment was brought in from the Townships DPW to assist. Crews also were fighting extremely cold temperatures. Multiple mutual aid departments assisted. The fire is presently under investigation by the West Milford Fire Marshals Office. Great job by all involved.

Fire watch guards help boost fire safety by monitoring properties for potential fire hazards, identifying unsafe conditions, and responding quickly when signs of fire or smoke appear. The presence of a fire watch security guard can provide an added layer of protection, especially during construction, maintenance, emergencies, or when fire protection systems are temporarily unavailable.
